How ScrapThat Works?
Sign up and verify your ID (this is a legal requirement when selling metals and would be the same process if you visited a scrap yard)
If you can – Identify your metals / cables and their weights and use our calculator to get a price estimate. Alternatively we can identify the items for you.
If you are happy with the estimate, pack up your scrap items and take a picture of what is included (to upload to your accounts for your own evidence)
Add a note inside the parcel with your customer number so we can identify your parcel
Select a courier option and arrange collection or drop off for your parcel, whichever is most convenient to you
Once your parcel is received by us, we will weigh and grade the items by metal and quality. We use a spectrometer to establish the exact metal so you can be sure the result is accurate.
We send you our assessment and offer based on the metals market price of that day (the metals market is a volatile stock market and prices can be up or down compared to the day you used the calculator).
Once you accept the outturn via your customer portal we will send prompt payment via transfer. If you decline the offer or disagree with our assessment you can arrange for the parcel to be returned to you.
